Traditional Jewelry Casting Services
As a traditional jewelry casting company, Snell Casting uses a process called Lost Wax casting. Centuries old, the Lost Wax process was used mainly to reproduce metal parts, and to reduce the time and labor it took to make the casting by metal smiths. Molten metal was poured into molds and then removed when solidified. Since then, modern technology has basically replaced the metal smith. The Lost Wax process typically includes five steps to produce raw jewelry castings; the initial concept or original model, mold, wax, investment mold, and the casting. A craft process, all the steps in the Lost Wax process are equally important. Today’s technology enables us to mold, wax, and cast smoother, more intricate and complex gold, bronze, and silver jewelry components, with more precision than ever before.
